Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago passed on at the St Luke's Medical Center Global City on Thursday, September 29. She was 71 years of age.
The three-term Senator, who completed toward the end in the May 9 presidential race, was determined to have lung cancer in 2014. She indicated physical shortcoming and had a long reprieve from battling, showing up among all applicants.
Santiago passed on at precisely 8:52 am Thursday, as indicated by a post in her official Twitter page.
Santiago, who kept running for president in May, had been engaging lung tumor since 2014.
When she initially reported that she had been determined to have stage 4 lung growth in July 2014, Santiago was hopeful that – like her different fights in life – she could beat the sickness.
